The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) and the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) have issued urgent advice to stop using specific non-sterile alcohol-free wipes after some were found to be contaminated with Burkholderia stabilis, a bacteria that can cause infection.
If you have any of the following products, please dispose of them safely:
- ValueAid Alcohol Free Cleansing Wipes
- Microsafe Moist Wipe Alcohol free
- Steroplast Sterowipe Alcohol Free Cleansing Wipes
This is especially important for workplaces and individuals responsible for first aid kits.
Please check your supplies and remove any affected products.
